Varadero Valencia played a key role in the fine-tuning of the legendary Swan 36s, Swan 42s and Swan 50s that raced in the Swan One Design Worlds and Nations League 2022 held in Valencia.
This year, with Valencia as host, the Swan Worlds brought together a total of thirty-four yachts from fifteen different countries. Many of them arrived at Varadero Valencia for preparations several weeks before the competition started.
Nine of the Swan 36s arrived by truck to the repair yard in early June. Once on the hardstanding, Varadero Valencia technicians worked together with Nautor's Swan counterparts to fine-tune the yachts for racing, including the installation of keels, rigging, checks, mandatory weighing and launches.
The yard also received six Swan 50s from the water, which were also hauled out with the 30-ton and 150-ton travel lifts onto the hard for keel repairs, weighing and further fine-tuning work performed by Nautor's Swan.
As a result, Varadero Valencia turned into an operations hub for contestants in the Worlds, allowing them to compete at the very highest level.
In addition to highlighting the professionalism and competitiveness of all the teams, special mention must be given to the winners of the three categories: Cuordileone, owned by Leonardo Ferragamo, in the Swan 50 category, who spent several weeks at Varadero Valencia before the competition; Nadir, owned by Pedro Vaquer Comas, in the Swan 42 category; and Mamao, owned by Haakon Lorentzen, in the Swan 36 category.
The high level of professionalism at Varadero Valencia means that it's now a benchmark repair yard for all types of yachts.
